We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Bathgate Academy is a comprehensive non-denominational school and serves a cluster of five primary schools.

The school roll is currently 1150 and this is steadily rising due to housing developments within the area and an ever increasing confidence from the community about the standard of education we provide.

Our motivated staff, students, parents, carers and the community we serve have worked hard to further improve all aspects of our school.

The role of Pupil Support Worker will have a clear focus on delivering high quality support for learners with a varying range of additional support needs within Bathgate Academy. The successful candidate will work closely within our Pupil Support Faculty, in order to ensure inclusive practices are in place and all learners can achieve their potential. The postholder will work in partnership with staff, parents/carers and learners.

This post is an opportunity for a highly motivated, skilled, open-minded and friendly person to join us, and to help us secure positive futures for our young people.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
